It was great to be at the Eccleshall Show 2026 this year, meeting local people, talking about the work we do and being part of one of Staffordshire's best-known local country shows.

The show took place on Saturday 5 September 2026 at The Parks, Sugnall, just outside Eccleshall, bringing together local businesses, organisations, families and visitors from across Staffordshire.

For us, it was a good opportunity to get out from behind the phone and website and speak directly to people who may have questions about septic tanks, soakaways, drainage and groundworks.

RC Atkin Contractors works across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire, with a large part of our work taking place across Staffordshire and the surrounding areas.

Being at events such as the Eccleshall Show gives us the chance to meet people locally who may not realise exactly what services we provide.

There are many rural properties across Staffordshire that rely on septic tanks and private drainage systems, and when something goes wrong, finding someone who understands the whole system can make a big difference.

We were able to talk to visitors about everything from septic tank installation and soakaways to drainage, drain clearing and groundworks.

It was good to meet people face to face

A busy day at the Eccleshall Show

The Eccleshall Show is a proper traditional country show, with plenty going on throughout the day. The 2026 show included equestrian competitions, more than 500 classic vehicles, horticultural and craft competitions, a companion dog show, food and trade stands, children's activities and entertainment.

The show is organised by volunteers and raises money for charities, making it an important part of the local community as well as a great day out.

For a local business like ours, being involved in events like this is about more than simply putting up a stand. It's about being visible in the communities where we work and giving people an opportunity to meet the people behind the business.
