Staffordshire Wildlife Trust at Croxall Lakes suffered serious flooding to their car park during the storms of 2020, which made the car park unsafe and unusable for members of the public visiting the lakes.

The Wildlife Trust made contact with us to ask us to undertake this project. Of course we were more than happy to oblige.

We agreed to supply new stone, and to relay the car park to make it safe and usable again.

The images below show just how much water damage there was to the car park after the storms.

The Project

We commenced work on site at the end of February 2020.

Our first job was to remove all the old surplus stone, mud, and damaged tarmac, and then to level the site ready to overlay with good quality stone.

Once the initial tidy up of the ground was achieved, we spread new stone across the site, and compressed the stone using a bulldozer to ensure the car park was fit for purpose and able to bear regular vehicular traffic moving forwards.

The end result was a much safer car park, that had a much better appearance, turning the lakes back to an enjoyable space for people to visit.
